MegaTerra

MegaTerra is a liquid microbial fertilizer based on Bacillus megaterium, a phosphorus-mobilizing bacterium. It increases the bioavailability of phosphorus already present in the soil, addressing the most expensive element in a fertilization program without additional mineral input.

Bacillus megaterium also contributes to crop resilience under drought and other climate stress: it increases the content of osmotically active compounds that help plants maintain water balance and cell turgor, and it improves soil microbial diversity with long-term effects on fertility.

Application overview

MegaTerra is applied to the soil at 100–200 ml per 0.1 ha (dka), before, at, or immediately after sowing, and as a foliar treatment at the same rate during vegetation. For vegetables it is also used as a seed treatment. Working solution: 20–25 L/dka for soil application, 25–35 L/dka foliar; 1–2 applications per season. The product contains live microorganisms (possible allergen) and is stored at 0–25 °C.

Registered as a microbial fertilizer in Bulgaria under № РД 11-1298/30.04.2025. Produced by BIOBACT Ltd., Yagodovo, Bulgaria — part of the same group as Lumbreco Ltd. Certification for use in organic production (Kiwa BCS) is in process.
